Object number2011.63.89
InscribedOn verso, lower right, in red paint, accession numberNotesSubject Note: Donor identified the sitted as James de Peyster Ogden, godfather of William James Hamersley, the same person who appears in a daguerreotype (2011.63.89) of about 1850. However, the person in the daguerreotype is a young boy, probably not James de Peyster Ogden and definitely not the same person who appears in this tintype. (Finlay 3/22/2012)

Date Note: Though the tintype probably dates from the 1860s, the miniature on which it is based could be much earlier. (Finlay 3/22/2012)
