NotesPrevious owner, T. F. Vaill, was a member of the Executive Committee for Litchfield Wide Awake Club in 1860.
Subject Note: Walter J. Bliss, listed as being from East Hartford, enlisted in the 25th Connecticut Volunteers August 21, 1862. He was mustered in to Company K on 11 November 1862, and was mustered out 26 August 1863. The 25th was a volunteer infantry with a service term of nine months.
In the Hartford City Directory for 1862, there is a Walter J. Bliss listed as a gunsmith, boarding at 10 Main Street.
