Object number2007.68.14
InscribedOn verso, in pencil, "Cousin Agnes Kellogg Sage." "Agnes Farwell Kellogg Sage / (1847-1880 [sic]), dau / of Elijah Chapman / Kellogg (1811-1881); / She mar. John Hall Sage]" "Source: Emily Kellogg / Beach"; lower right, in pencil, account number.NotesConstituent Note: The photograph G.W. Davis had his studio in the Kellogg Building at 136 Main Street, Hartford, upstairs from the firm of E.B. & E.C. Kellogg. Davis was at this address from 1855 to 1864; in 1859, the firm name was Davis & Gilbert, so the photograph of Agnes Farwell Kellogg was probably not taken in that year.

Subject Note: Agnes Farwell Kellogg Sage (1847-19--) was the daughter of Elijah Chapman Kellogg, one of the principal partners in E.B. & E.C. Kellogg. Although the inscription on the back of the photograph gives Agnes Kellogg's death date as 1880, she actually lived until 19--. A memorial print inscribed in her memory is in the collections of the Connecticut Historical Society.
