It was part of a large lot of photographs relating to the Danbury Fair, an annual exhibition held in Danbury between 1821 and 1981. At first a traditional agricultural fair, the event later included large fiberglass sculptures, stock car racing, and amusement park rides. The former fairground is now (2011) the site of the Danbury Fair Mall. (Finlay 3/25/2011)
