DescriptionPolitical cartoon features three kittens or cats. In the center, a white kitten with a shield and ribbon that reads "OLD ABE" stands in the interior of a dish bearing the Great Seal of the United States. A gray striped kitten with a rope around its neck that reads "JEFF" is slinking off at the right. A black kitten on the left with a ribbon that reads: "CONTRABAND" has one foot in the dish. The dish sits on a map of the United States. The Confederate States and their major cities are identified at the left: "ALABAMA, GEORGIA, FLORIDA, SOUTH / CAROLINA, Mobile, Pensacola, St. Augustine, Savannah, Beaufort, Port Royal, Charleston." The map rests on an American flag.
