InscribedOn verso of wood backing, "Lucy and Ada / daughters of Timothy / Dutton"; in brown ink, "Box #19"; in red paint, accession numberNotesSubject Note: Lucille and Adeline Dutton were the daughters of Timothy Dutton IV (1805-1882) and his wife Adeline Maynard Dutton (b. 1810). Lucille was born on 9 September 1828 and Adeline was born on 25 July 1830. Lucille married Samuel Woodruff (1814-1882) in 1848. Adeline married Elisha Alexander in 1850. Lucille and Samuel Woodruff lived in Hartford, Connecticut and had several children. Ada (Adeline?) Alexander, a widow, was living in Northfield, Massachusetts in 1880.Inscription Note: Inscriptions on the backs of the silhouettes were probably added by a cataloguer or genealogical researcher at some point in the 20th century. The information contained in them is not necessarily accurate.
