Jane Bonner

BiographyJane Bonner was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on 2 May 1691, the daughter of Captain John Bonner of Boston. She and her brother John (1693-1762) were taken to London when she was seven years old, and Jane contracted smallpox. Jane Bonner married Captain John Ellery (1681-1742) in Boston on 31 August 1710. They had a son John Ellery, and he had a son named William Ellery. William Ellery's daughter married Major Henry Seymour, father of Governor Seymour. Jane Bonner Ellery was the great great grandmother of Governor Thomas Hart Seymour. Jane Bonner Ellery died in 1739. (Source: CHS Painting Notebooks)
