DescriptionWoman's bonnet of aqua silk. The angle from brim to crown is flat. The crown is gathered on wires and is turned out in a narrow oval flare around the face. The crown has an interlining of stiff fabric; it is gathered into the brim, with the seam covered by a pleated width of self-fabric. A curtain covering the back of the neck (or bavolet) is gathered on a wire and is 3 1/2 inches deep at center back. A bow of rust-colored and very pale aqua silk ribbon is mounted at the lower back of the bonnet. This same ribbon is used for the ties. The bonnet crown is lined with glazed tan cotton and the brim is lined with golden tan silk.
