DescriptionBlown amber glass ball stopper, consisting of a blown glass body with a pontil mark and round opening to one side. The stopper is not completely spherical. The exterior of the stopper has many short, light scratches.
NotesObject Note: A ball stopper is a glass ball that rests on top of a glass jug. The diameter of the stopper is slightly larger than the diameter of the mouth of the jug. Such jugs and stoppers were made in the mid-nineteenth century in the United States. (Hunt 4/292005)
