DescriptionDecanter with stopper made of blown three-mold colorless lead glass with a yellow tint. The decanter (.a) has a flared lip, an inverted conical neck, a low sloping shoulder, a barrel-shaped body, and a shallow kick with a pontil mark on the bottom. Three rings circle the neck of the decanter, each consisting of a double band of glass decorated with vertical tool marks. A raised geometric pattern decorates the sides of the decanter. This pattern consists of a wide band of vertical ribbing at the shoulder, a wide band of diamond diapering at the widest point, and a second band of vertical ribbing circling the lower sides of the decanter. A pattern of elongated diamonds circle the pontil mark on the bottom of the decanter. The inside of the neck is ground to receive a stopper. There is a ring of light scratches and wear around the bottom edges of the decanter.

The stopper (.b) consists of a globular finial above a tapered portion that fits into the neck of the decanter; the tapered portion of the stopper is ground. The finial is decorated with a raised pattern of ribs above and below a band of diamond diapering.

Kick: An indentation in the bottom of a drinking glass, bottle, or other glass object.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
