DescriptionDecanter made of mold-blown colorless lead glass with a light grey tint. The decanter (.a) has a tall, cylindrical neck with an applied ring at the rim, an applied ribbed collar, rounded shoulders, a cruciform body, and a pontil mark on the bottom. The glass has a cloudy and wavy appearance.

The decanter is accompanied by a colorless, pressed non-lead glass stopper (.b). The stopper consists of a vertically oriented, disc-shaped finial above a cylindrical, slightly tapered portion that fits into the neck of the decanter.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
