DescriptionSlip (.b): Woman's below-knee-length slip of white rayon, closely fitted in the top. The left side opening fastens with six metal snaps. The shoulder straps are narrow strips of cream-colored cotton. The bottom edge of the rayon is cut in wide scallops, sewn to a bias-cut flounce (8 1/4-inches-deep) of cream-colored organdy.
NotesHistorical Notes: According to museum records, this slip and dress were made by Anne C. Gilbert for Helen E. Gilbert. She wore the outfit to Hegerow, the first time she went to the theatre with Charles Coleman Sellers.
