DescriptionThe hill is largely tree-covered with a clearing in the foreground and another on the summit of the hill where the Baptist Church and the home of Reverend Mr. Burrows, an aged Baptist clergyman, are located. A road winds up the hill at the right.
NotesSubject Note: Wood engraving from Connecticut Historical Collections, John Warner Barber, New Haven, 1836. Fort Hill was the site of the Fort of the Pequot leader Sassacus, abandoned after the defeat of the Pequots at Mystic in 1637.
