DescriptionA road with a "stone wall" and trees on either side leads down a hill in the foreground. In the background rises Pequot Hill, largely cleared fields with a few trees. The house of "Roswell Fish Esqr." and its outbuildings are at the top of the hill on the right. An inscription in the left background indicates the location of "Portersville"
NotesSubject Note: Preliminary drawing for Connecticut Historical Collections, John Warner Barber, New Haven, 1836. Pequot Hill was the site of a battle between the Pequot and the English in 1637.
