DescriptionWoman's corset cover, made of sheer ecru cotton. It appears to have been made with handkerchiefs, cut on the diagonal and stitched together with strips of bobbin lace insertion between the edges. These insertions are laid in opposing diagonals around the body. The fabric edges have a faggoted hem and a double row of simple floral embroidery. The camisole opens at the center front; the neck edge and waist edges close with drawstrings of cream-colored silk ribbon. The proper right opening edge is trimmed with bobbin lace. The center front and center back are gathered to the drawstring edging. The neckline is low and square. The shoulder straps are made of bobbin lace. The neckline and armhole edges are trimmed with bobbin lace.
