DescriptionWoman's day dress of ecru silk, with a high band collar made of rows of fine linen bobbin lace. This neckband has strips of yellow celluloid boning to keep it up. The shoulders have wings of the silk with lace insertion and edging, over elbow-length sleeves. Each sleeve ends in a cuff of rows of lace and edging in a narrow ruffle of lace. Insertions of lace decorate the bodice, which is gathered into the waistline. A cumberbund-like gathering of the dress silk encircles the waist. The skirt fullness at the waist is controlled by a series of pintucks. The skirt consists of nine panels, separated by lace insertions and ending in a zig-zag shape, below which flares a deep ruffle. The dress is unlined, except at the waist. It closes at center back with hooks and eyes.

Petticoat: Cotton with drawstring waist. The petticoat is ruffled in layers from the knee area to the bottom. The topmost ruffle is decorated with pintucks and insertions of machine-made bobbin-type lace. It is finished with a second, narrower ruffle around the bottom, which is also decorated with pintucks and edged with lace. The lower ruffle is similarly constructed, but without decoration, except for a narorw edging of lace at the bottom.
