DescriptionThe album includes informal portraits of the Tatro family, especially Amy Tatro and her parents, Alexander and Meta Tatro, and their friends. Most of the photographs are amateur photographs of unidentified people. Some photographs depict Amy as an infant, a young girl, a teenager, and a young adult. Some photographs show children, possibly friends of Amy Tatro, playing outdoors. One photograph shows four boys holding baseball equipment including baseball bats and gloves. Several photographs are of a beach and a boardwalk with people swimming, playing, and fishing. One photograph is of a gravestone inscribed with the name "Heinze". Some people are wearing clothing in the photographs such as dresses and suits, coats, bathing suits, skirts, and blouses. Miscellaneous photographs include men smoking pipes, sailboats, a lighthouse, Amy and Alexander Tatro dressed in Christmas outfits, riding a horse, a war tank, statues, and schools.
NotesSubject note: 2006.49.5.16 is a photograph of three men dressed in conductor uniforms in front of a trolley. ("Trolley Employees Dance," The Hartford Courant (1887-1992); November 13, 1903)

Many of the photos are of Amy Tatro and her parents, Alexander and Meta. Alexander Tatro was born in Canada in 1868 and immigrated to the United States in 1870. Meta Heinze was born in Sweden in 1871and moved to the United States in 1880. She came with her sister and they worked as maids for wealthy families around Hartford such as the Ponds.
