BiographyIron Thunderhorse was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1950 under the name William L. Coppola. In 1989, he legally changed his name to Iron Thunderhorse. He played a leading role in the formation of the Algonquian Confederacy of the Quinnipiac Tribal Council, serving as Grand Sachem of the Thunder Clan.
