BiographyDr. Henry Robert Vaille, born Osni Underwood, was born on 24 July 1809 in Marlboro, Vermont. He was the son of Thaddeus Underwood (1760-1840) and Mary Farr (1766-1842). He had seven siblings. In 1837, he legally changed his name from Osni Underwood to Henry Robert Vaille.
In 1838, he married Anna Pitman (d. 1849). They had two children. After the death of his first wife, Vaille married Sarah Wilkinson Lewis (1824-1913) in 1849. They had six children.
Dr. Vaille graduated from Williams College in 1835. He was a physician in Springfield, Massachusetts. He died on 15 July 1885 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
