BiographyMr. Medcalfe was with the British army during Lt.-General John Burgoyne's Hudson River campaign and drew a map showing the Battles of Saratoga and Bennington. He may have been an army officer on Burgoyne's staff. Burgoyne refers to him as "Mr. Metcalf" in his correspondence.
