BiographyJohn Cheney Cowles was the third son of Elizabeth Cheney Cowles and Alfred Cowles II. He married Ester Stockton in 1929; they were divorced in 1937. In 1938, he married Elizabeth Hudson Rich. He did not have any children. In 1944, he lived in Meriden, New Hampshire working as a farmer. He was also a writer of fiction.
