Giacomo Tedone

1916 - 1998
BiographyGiacomo "Jack" Tedone was born on February 15, 1916, in Italy. He immigrated to the United States probably in 1922. He served as a flight engineer for the Connecticut Flying Yankees in World War II.

On July 13, 1944, he married Margaret Valente in Hartford. They had four sons, one of whom developed brain damage as a child after an illness. This prompted the Tedones to become founding members of Harc, Inc. Jack also organized one of the first Boy Scout troops in Connecticut specifically for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Jack Tedone worked in furniture sales at G. Fox & Co. for 35 years. After he retired, he joined the staff of a pilot nonprofit program that trained unemployed people. He and his wife were also heavily involved with their Catholic church.
