Aaron J. Fien

BiographyAaron J. Fien was born on 27 December 1889 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of Abraham Philip Fien (1863-1917) and Feiga Toiba Fien (1863-1924). He had six siblings: Nellie (Fien) Levy (1883-1950); Harry Fien (1886-1935); Sarah (Fien) Wesler (1893-1973); Henrietta Antoinette (Fien) Kapsinow (1895-1965); Julius Fien (1897-1918); and Rose (Fien) Wasserman (1900-1982).
He married Sophie Ofstein (1904-2001), and they had one son, Stephen Joseph (Fien) Cornfield (1936-2008).
Aaron Fien graduated from Trinity College in 1910. In 1913, he began working at the Hartford Engineering Department. In 1937, he was promoted to the office of engineer in charge of property records. In 1953, he was honored at Hartford City Hall for 40 years of service with the Engineering Department. He was a member of the Connecticut Society of Engineers.
He died on 1 May 1955 in Hartford. He is buried in Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
