DescriptionThe drawing depicts a large white building with the name “W. C. WOODWORTH” displayed on its façade and the words “W. C. WOODWORTH / DEALER IN / DRUGS AND MEDICINS / DRY GOODS / AND / GROCERIES” painted along the side. A red chimney rises from the roof, and a single shoe hangs from the side of the front door. A deciduous tree positioned prominently in the foreground visually separates Woodworth’s store from the darker neighboring buildings. The thick layer of snow blanketing the ground and rooftops indicates that the scene takes place in winter.
