DescriptionSixth-plate daguerreotype of Mrs. Anna Crosby Carpenter, taken sometime in the 1850s. She is wearing a dress with bell sleeves and buttons down the front of the bodice. A white lacy collar is fastened at the throat with a brooch. Her hair is parted in the middle and fashioned into ringlets that appear to be gathered into puffs near her ears
