DescriptionTwo sixth-plate daguerreotypes in one case. On the left is Frederick William Carpenter, and on the right is his wife, Clarissa Symonds Bull Carpenter. They are probably in their thirties. He is wearing a dark jacket, patterned vest, and a wide bow tie. His dark hair is worn slightly long, with the top section worn in a fashionable wave. She is wearing a dress and a scallop-edged lace collar fashioned at the neck with a brooch.
