DescriptionSmall, porcelain dish in the shape of an oval. The edges are scalloped and are curved up. There are applied gold decorations around the interior sides of the dish, and a yellow glaze around the rim. There is a polychrome overglaze printed scene at the center of the dish. The scene is titled below, "WADSWORTH ATHENEUM, HARTFORD, CONN." It shows a Gothic-style stone building with square towers, parapets, and crenellations. In the foreground are a tree, sidewalk and street.

MarkingsThere is one printed, black enamel mark on the bottom of the dish in a rectagular box; it reads, "Made in Austria/ for/ G. Fox & Co.,/ Hartford, Conn." Below the box, it reads, "Vienna."
