DescriptionRound, hard paste porcelain teacup with gilding and overglaze enamels in blue, black and orange; the teacup is Chinese export porcelain. There is a crest, or pseudoarmorial, on the side of the teacup consisting of a shield with branches of leaves on either side. A small orange plant is in the center of the shield, and a bird rests on a gold and black platform above. Additionally, the sides of the teacup are decorated with small, blue enamel flowers. The outside rim of the teacup is decorated with a line of orange enamel with a scalloped line of gilding on top. Above this is a plain band of blue and the remnants of gilding at the rim. A small handle has been molded and applied to the side of the teacup opposite the pseudoarmorial. There are four chips missing from the thickly applied band of blue enamel at the rim. Most of the gilding has worn off the rim.
