DescriptionSixth plate daguerreotype portrait of Catherine Brinley Huntington, taken at Bartlett's Galery in Hartford. Huntington is young, possibly in her very early 20s. She is wearing a gingham dress with buttons down the bodice. The sleeves also feature buttons on the upper arms (possibly detachable sleeves?) and ruffles at the wrists. Her small white collar is fastened at the throat with a brooch. Her hair is parted in the middle and worn in loops or puffs over her ears, which are visible.

The velvet pad is embossed with the words "DAGUERREOTYPE ARTIST / BARTLETTS / GALLERY / HARTFORD"
