Laura and Wilkie were married on 5 July 1924, in the garden at Laura's parents’ home (the Howell Cheney house) in Manchester, Connecticut. The photographs depict groups of people milling around in a cultivated garden, as well as scenes of the wedding party processing through the garden along a path that has been demarcated by long ribbons.
