DescriptionHalf length studio portrait of Emily Frances Cheney Hudson. She is seated in a chair that has an ornately carved back and is looking off-camera to the right. Emily is wearing a dress that has a small checkered pattern and buttons down the front, with a small ruffled collar. There appears to be a brooch at her throat. Her hair is parted sharply down the middle of her head and is pulled down over her ears and then back into an updo. The hair that covers her ears is crimped.
