DescriptionRound, porcelain teacup (.a) and saucer (.b) with gilding and overglaze enamels in green, yellow, grey, blue, purple, and orange. The teacup has a gilded rim with yellow enamel that fades to white at the bottom. Light grey leaves and flowers have been painted on the sides. The teacup has an additional decoration in the form of a small vignette that has been painted on the side to the right of the gilded handle. The scene shows a woman in a purple dress with a man in orange reclining to the left. The scene is surrounded by gilded scrolls.

The saucer has gilding applied to the feathered rim; inside the gilding is green enamel that fades to white in the center. Light grey leaves and flowers have been painted on the rim where the green fades to white.

MarkingsBoth the teacup and saucer have the same two marks on the bottom:
Green, printed, underglaze mark of "LIMOGES" over an arrow pointing left, over "FRANCE".
Red, overglaze, printed mark with "ELITE" over a shield with the initials "SM" and the bust of a person inside, and "LIMOGES/ FRANCE" below.
