DescriptionThree-quarter length studio portrait of Dorothy Cheney as a young woman. She is seated in a chair and is resting her hands in her lap. She is wearing a short-sleeved dress that has ruffled pleats across the shoulders and neckline. There is a large lace appliqué on the bodice, near her waist. A long, embroidered scarf is draped around her neck. Her hair is in an updo.

Photograph is attached to a light-colored mount and is covered by a sheet of tissue, all of which is incased in a gray paper cover.
