NotesSubject Note: Idle Wild Farm, located in Pomfret Center, Connecticut, was opened by Alphonsine "Therese" Makowsky and Jacques Makowsky after 1946. They first began raising and selling African guinea hens. In the early 1950s, the Makowsky's began cross-breeding Cornish game cocks with various chickens and game birds, resulting in the Rock Cornish game hen.
