DescriptionEllipsograph with cardboard box. The rectangular box has separate top and bottom. The box top is tan in color and has a maker's logo on the center top. The logo is surrounded by a red line in an elliptical shape. In the logo is lettering that reads: "OMICRON / GLENDALE. CALIF. / MODEL 17 / ELLIPSOGRAPH." The lettering follows the line of the red ellipsis and is curved slightly. In the center of the logo is a vertical oval made of two red lines. The box bottom is red with white interior.

Ellipsograph has a clear plastic backing with the Omicron logo [see description above] printed in red on the top. The backing is flat on the sides with an arched top and small semi-circle cut out of the bottom. The metal arms of the ellipsograph are attached to the plastic backing at five points with the center pin protruding through the semi-circular hole at the bottom. The arms are connected with metal pins and screws and lay in a retracted position at various angles over the plastic backing. Some sections of the metal arms are corroded and have turned green.

Two instructional and advertising pamphlets lie in the bottom of the box, along with an adaptor attachment for the ellipsograph and a piece of tissue paper on which the instrument lies.
