DescriptionRound, porcelain teacup (.a) and saucer (.b) with green enamel and gilding. The teacup and saucer are decorated in the same series of patterns, beginning with white at the center of the saucer and at the bottom of the teacup. This is surrounded by a gold pattern of shells and scrolls, then a wider band of gold with green decorations of circles, stars, and abstract naturalistic shapes. Finally, there is a band of gilded filigree at the rim of both the teacup and saucer. The teacup has additional decoration in the form of a band of gilding at the foot, a gilded handle, and a swagged border of gilded lines and dots on the inside of the rim. The saucer had additional gilding in the center, where the rim transitions to the depression that holds the teacup; however, this has mostly worn off.

MarkingsThere are two marks found on the bottom of both the teacup and saucer. The first is an underglaze green printed mark of "J. P./ L." over the curved word "FRANCE". The second mark is an overglaze red mark of the numbers "577". Additionally, the saucer has an overglaze mark of "J. Pouyat/ Limoges" inside a green and brown wreath.
