DescriptionTwo rectangular earthenware platters with transfer-printed teal enamel decoration from the "Asiatic Plants" series. The detailed images of the flowers in the "Asiatic Plants" series fill the entire center of the platter. The platters each have a border on the rim with a teal background and a scalloped line of small flowers amid scrolls and abstract decoration. The border extends from the rim down the shallow sloped sides of each platter, where the border becomes a scalloped line with a vine and leaf motif on either side.

Platter (.10) has a light overall crazing, and a few light streaks of an unknown brown substance on the lower right. The bottom of the platter shows the wear of regular use over time.

Platter (.11) has light overall crazing and dirt accumulation, which may be a result of imperfections in the glaze. The bottom of the platter shows the wear and dirt accumulation of regular use over time.

MarkingsEach plate bears two transfer-printed marks on the underside of the rim. The first is a small bunch of flowers with leaves on the stalks; the words "Asiatic Plants" are written in the leaves. The second mark is a small circle with a dot inside the circle. Additionally, each platter has an impressed mark on the underside of the platter. Platter (.10) reads "18", and platter (.11) reads "16/ N".NotesObject Note: The "Asiatic Plants" series was a fairly common transfer-printed design, found in both green and blue, and used by several different manufacturers.
