DescriptionNavy blue straw hat (.a) with upturned brim, "Bretton" style, with navy blue grosgrain ribbon, with original box (.b-.c) and sales receipt (.d). The hat has a faux pearl-headed hat pin.
The original cubical box is made of gray-brown paper, undecorated except for the name printed at the center of the lid: "Sage-Allen / Millinery Department." There is a delivery ticket pasted to top of lid, addressed to "MRS JOHN M NEUMEYER / 15 VINE ST / EAST HARTFORD CONN" dated 3-25.
The original paper sales receipt from Sage-Allen is made out to Mrs. J. Neumeyer for "Navy Bretton Hat [$] 5-".
