DescriptionCompote made of pressed colorless lead glass. The compote has a thick, scalloped rim. Rounded sides form a bowl that is connected by a wafer to a hollow, hexagonal, baluster-shaped stem with a hexagonal, rounded foot. The exterior of the rounded bowl portion of the compote is decorated with what is known as the "Thumbprint" or "Concave" pattern. The pattern consists of shallow, impressed thumb print shapes in the glass that are elongated near the scalloped rim, but become more shallow and round toward the bottom of the bowl. The compote would have had a lid at one time (now missing).
