DescriptionBuff-colored stoneware spittoon; the spittoon has cylindrical sides, a deep conical well in the center that has a hole in the bottom, and a flat bottom. Three incised bands circle the center of the sides of the spittoon, and there is one oval hole in the side of the spittoon, just above these lines. The exterior of the spittoon has been coated with a salt glaze, while the interior and conical well are coated with a brown slip glaze, or Albany-type glaze.

There is a crack in the well and rim of the spittoon, and a lengthy series of chips in the side of the spittoon closest to this crack. There is an additional chip in the upper side of the spittoon. Additionally, grey dirt has adhered to the well of the spittoon, near the central hole.
