Object number1983.175.0
InscribedOn verso, along right edge, in pencil, old and new accession numbers.NotesArtist Note: This appears to be the preliminary drawing for E.C. Kellogg's lithograph of the Charter Oak; presumably, therefore, it is by E.C. Kellogg. The fact that the drawing has been squared for transfer further suggests that it was reproduced in another medium. (Finlay 1/10/2005)

Date Note: The lithograph based on this drawing appears as an illustration in: Letters from the English Kings and Queens.... Compiled by R.R. Hinman. Hartford: John B. Eldredge, printer, 1836. Connecticut Imprints 1836 H 663L. Therefore the drawing was presumably was executed in 1836. (Finlay 10/24/2005)
