DescriptionOval, earthenware sugar bowl with an all over silver luster decoration. The sugar bowl reflects the neoclassical styles popular in the first half of the nineteenth century. The ribbed sides swell from an oval foot to horizontal bands that follow the outline of the rectangular rim. The silver luster has worn off protruding portions of the sugar bowl, specifically on the ribbed sides. The sugar bowl probably had a lid at one time.
