DescriptionRound, buff-colored stoneware jug with a flat base and sides that are vertical at the base, taper gradually to a narrow neck, and flare at the rim to form a spout. Opposite the spout, a pulled, strap handle has been applied by hand. The jug is covered on the interior and exterior with a brown slip glaze, or Albany-type glaze, with the exception of the bottom, which is unglazed. The surface of the glaze shows many imperfections: bubbles, gouges, and drops of extra glaze. The base of the jug shows signs of having been pulled off the wheel with a wire. The glaze on the interior of the jug may show signs of flaking.
