DescriptionShort, stoneware jug with an all over brown slip glaze, or Albany-type slip glaze. The jug has a flat base and a cylindrical lower third that narrows gradually at the shoulder and neck to form a wide band, or collar, at the rim. A pulled strap handle is applied at one side, connecting the rim and shoulder of the jug. Opposite the handle is the impressed maker's mark, "T O GOODWIN". There is some crazing to the glaze, and three small gouges in the surface of the jug, near the base.
