DescriptionOvoid redware lidded jar with an irregular, clear lead glaze on the interior and the exterior. The bottom of the jar (.b) is unglazed. The jar has a round foot, sides that swell and then narrow gradually, and a slightly flared rim that supports an ill-fitting lid. The lid (.b) is disc-shaped and has a small, disc-shaped finial in the center.
There is one large chip in the rim of the jar, and most of the glaze has chipped off of the top surface of the rim. There are four chips on the foot of the jar. The widest portions of the jar show multiple light scratches. A hole in the glaze and ceramic is located about halfway down one side of the jar; this appears to have occurred during manufacture. The lid has a black discoloration on the bottom, two chips in the rim, and heavy crazing on the top surface.
