DescriptionPorcelain vase with a white glaze. The vase sits on a square base and has vertical sides. Each of the sides are interrupted by a semi-circular lobe that juts out from the vertical side. The lobes begin with flutes that extend about 1 3/4 inches up the sides of the lobe. The lobes extend all the way to the rim. The inside bottom of the vase contains a frog, a raised platform with holes used to hold flower stems in place in the vase. The style of the vase reflects the Art Deco and streamlined styles popular during the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s.
The glaze is crazing over all the surfaces of the vase, and there are many scratches on the inside of the vase. Two hairline cracks have formed at the rim, on two different lobes, and extend down the side of the vase. There is one minor chip in the rim.

MarkingsThere are three marks on the unglazed bottom of the vase: an impressed maker's mark of "HARTFORD PORCELAIN"; the impressed numbers and letters "BK 25 24/ S 351"; and a very faint, ink, stamped mark of a name (perhaps a product or designer name) over a square with four solid squares inside. On View
