DescriptionCrazy quilt consisting of brightly colored plain and compound-weave silks and velvet, stitched together and embellished with hand-stitched embroidery and machine-made appliques. The initials "S. M. P." are embroidered at the center. Each block of the crazy quilt consists of four triangular patches sewn together and separated with black sashing. The appliques include owls, fans, plans and a pair of boots. Each edge of the crazy quilt has an olive brown silk tape binding. The backing consists of a maroon herringbone twill-woven fabric.
