DescriptionThree-quarter-length portrait of a bearded man wearing a coat, vest, shirt, and necktie. His left hand rests on the spine of a book that rests on a table covered with a tablecloth. An upholstered armchair and a fluted column on a high base are at the left. Cord is wrapped around the top of the column, and a tassel hangs at the right. Drapery is in the left background, and a paneled wall is in the right background.
