DescriptionView of seven teenage boys sitting in a crew boat on a lake. There are two people on a raft in the background and another two standing on the dock attached to the raft. There are two individuals in boats beyond the raft. A large shed or barn can be seen on the shore on the opposite side of the lake.

They are members of the Shattuck boat club at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. Coxswain Roland W. Smith is on the far left, facing the other rowers. The rest, left to right, are Richard H. Franchot, Philip Allen, H. Ward Ford, Arthur A. Houghton, E. Livingfield More and J. Edward Coar.

St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire had two rival boat clubs, called Shattuck and Halcyon. Charles Cheney rowed with the Halcyon club.
