DescriptionCannon smoke issues from American warships at the right and a large stone fortress on an island in the middle distance. At least one vessel is a steamboat; a short smokestack is visible between its masts. American flags fly from the ships, fort, and from a walled city on the mainland in the background. A small boat is being rowed in the right foreground. A buoy or channel marker is in the water in the center foreground. Mountains are in the distance.
